Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Wenwei Decoction combined with tiprapridone for chronic atrophic gastritis and the influence on the Hp conversion rate, gastric mucosa pathological changes, and pepsin progenitor. Methods From March, 2017 to March, 2018, 106 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis admitted into the digestive outpatient department of our hospital were selected as study subjects, and randomly divided into a control group (n=53 cases) and an observation group (n=53 cases). The control group orally took tiprapridone capsules; in addition, the observation group were treated with Wenwei Decoction; both groups were treated continuously for one month. The clinical effects of the two groups were compared; the rate of Hp's conversion was calculated; the severity of gland atrophy, intestinal metaplasia, and dysplasia before and after treatment were observed; the serum level of serum pepsinogen (PG) before and after treatment was detected; and the recurrence rate after a half-year follow-up was calculated. Results The effective of rate was 94.3% in the observation group, and was 79.2% in the control group (χ2=5.267, P<0.05). After follow-up for half a year, among the 35 cured cases in the observation group, 3 cases (8.57%) relapsed; while among the 23 cured cases in the control group, 7 cases (30.43%), which was higher than that of the observation group (P<0.05). The eradication rate of Hp was 65.38% in the observation group, and was 42.00% than the control group (P<0.05). After the treatment, the observation group had better improvement in glandular atrophy, IM, ATP, and other aspects than the control group and than before the treatment (all P<0.05). The serum levels of PGI and PGI /PGII were significantly higher and the PGII level was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (all P<0.05). No other significant adverse reactions were observed in the observation group; while 2 cases had narcolepsy, 2 diarrhea, 4 dry mouth, and 1 skin rash in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Wenwei Decoction combined with tiprapridone is good to conducive to the eradication of h. pylori, the improvement of gastric mucosal pathology, and the promotion of the healing of damaged gastric mucosa. Key words: Chronic atrophic gastritis; Wenwei Decoction; Tipristone; Hp conversion rate; Gastric mucosal pathology; Pepsinogen
