Abstract

Objective To investigate and analyze the clinical effect of Ginkgo biloba extract on mild to moderate non proliferative diabetic retinopathy. Methods 200 patients with mild to moderate non proliferative diabetic retinopathy were randomly divided into two groups, 100 cases in each group. The control group was treated with aspirin enteric-coated tablets. The observation group was given aspirin enteric-coated tablets and Ginkgo biloba extract. The clinical effect of the two groups was analyzed. Results The total effective rate of the observation group (83.52%) was significantly higher than that of control group (60.67%) (χ2=12.976, P<0.05). After treatment, the visual acuity level, mean defect of visual field in the observation group were (4.84±0.10), (2.52±0.13)dB, respectively, which in the control group were (4.74±0.18), (3.09±0.32)dB, respectively, the differences between the two groups were statistically significant (t=0.535, 22.228, all P<0.05). Conclusion Ginkgo biloba extract has good effect in the treatment of patients with mild to moderate non proliferative diabetic retinopathy, it can significantly improve the patients' visual acuity, visual field defect reduction. Key words: Diabetic retinopathy; Ginkgo biloba extract
