Abstract

Objective To compare the curative effects of different medicines mixed with calcium hydroxide as root canal disinfection medicines. Methods One hundred and ninty-two patients with pulpitis, pulp necrosis, periapical periodontitis were chose, and divided into CH group, CH and iodoform compound paste group, CH and metronidazole compound paste group, CH and dexamethasone compound paste group, then canal therapy was given. Results There was little difference in therapy effect among the 4 groups. But the CH and iodoform compound paste group showed better therapy effect on the periapical periodontitis. Conclusions The CH and iodoform compound paste group show better therapy effect on periapical periodontitis. Key words: Root canal disinfection ; Ca（OH） 2 ; Iodoform ; Metronidazdle ; Dexamethasone
