Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of ellman instrument in dacryocystorhinostomy application. Methods Forty-three cases (43 eyes) with chronic dacryocystitis were collected, the patients were randomly divided into two groups, the observation group (n=21, 21 eye) in patients with ellman instrument dacryocystorhinostomy treatment of chronic dacryocystitis, the control group (n=22, 22 eyes) were treated with a knife after the flap dacryocystorhinostomy treatment of chronic dacryocystitis, six months of treatment was observed between the two groups. Results Comparison of two groups showed no significant difference (P>0.05). There were no recurrences. Conclusions Ellman instrument in dacryocystorhinostomy treatment for chronic dacryocystitis are safe, effective, good prognosis, and with high patient satisfaction.
