Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of Compound Glycyrrhizin (CG) and Polyene Phosphatidylcholine (PPC) to treat the patients of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. Methods One hundred patients with noalcoholic steatohepatitis were divided into two groups randomly: therapy group (n=50) (received treatment with CG and PPC), and control group (n=50) was given only PPC. Both of two groups were all observed for 8 weeks. To calculate the clinical parameters before treatment and after treatment for 4 weeks and 8 weeks. The results were compared with each other. Results The total effective rate of therapy group was 94%; effective rate of control group was 58%; the study demonstrated that there were statistical differences between the two groups with respect to total effective rate(P< 0.01).After being treated with CG for 8 weeks, all the clinical parameters(ALT/AST/GGT/TC/TG) in the patients of therapy group had gone down markedly than those of control group(P< 0.01); in therapy group, all the value of the parameters after 8 weeks of treating reduced more statistically than that after 4 weeks of treating(P< 0.01).No toxicity had been found in both groups. Conclusion Combining with CG to treat non-alcoholic steatohepatitis has the effect of protecting liver and reducing enzyme and serum glucose safely and with less side effects. Key words: Compound Glycyrrhizin; No-alcoholic steatohepatitis; Curative Effect
