Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical application and effect evaluation of ultrasonic knife for breast cancer axillary lymph node dissection. Methods The 169 cases of breast cancer were enrolled in this study from January 2014 to January 2016, 94 cases were operated by electrosurgical scalpel(observation group); 75 cases were operated by ultracision harmonic scalpel(control group); Operation time, amount of bleeding during operation, time of drainage tube exelcymosis, amount of drainage , amount of lymph node, subcutaneous hydrops and complications were observed and recorded accordingly. Results There was no significant difference in operating time or amount of lymph node between the two groups(P>0.05). Amount of bleeding, the time of drainage tube exelcymosis, amount of drainage and the incidence of subcutaneous hydrops in ultracision harmonic scalpel group were significantly less than those in electrosurgical scalpel group(P>0.05). Conclusions Harmonic scalpel in modified radical mastectomies have significant advantages, it has a good application prospect in modified radical mastectomies. Key words: Modified radical mastectomy; Axillary lymph node dissection; Harmonic scalpel; Breast cancer
