Abstract

Objective To explore the significance of the presence of HBV markers in renal tissues from patients with hepatitis B virus-associated glomerulonephritis(HBV-GN) and the clinicopathologic features of HBV-GN.Methods The 144 cases with HBV-GN confirmed by renal biopsy from January 2001 to October 2012 were collected. The kidney biopsy were studied by immunofluorescence and immunohistochemical SP method for HBV markers in paraffin and frozen sections. Results Immunohistochemistry showed positive HBV markers in 117 membranous nephropathy cases (81.2%) and 21 membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis cases(4.5%).HBV markers were located in capillary and mesanginm. Conclusion Due to the high incidence of HBV in China, routine detection of HBV markers in kidney biopsy is of great significance for early diagnosis of HBV-GN.
