Abstract
Objective To review and summarize the therapeutic effect of double level and the single level of ventilation mode conversion of non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) in treating acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD) with type Ⅱ respiratory failure acomplicated with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS).Methods Forty-two cases with AECOPD with type Ⅱ respiratory failure acomplicated with OSAHS were treated with double level and the single level of ventilation mode conversion of NIPPV,and compared with 42 cases without double level and the single level of ventilation mode conversion of NIPPV.To observe the changes of arterial blood gas indexes (pH,PaO2,PaCO2) and polysomnography(PSG) indexes (AHI,SpO2).Results Arterial blood gas indexes (pH,PaO2,PaCO2) and polysomnography (PSG) indexes (AHI,SpO2) of the conversion therapy group improved signicantly better than the non conversion therapy group in three days. The difference was statistically significant. Conclusions Double level and the single level of ventilation mode conversion treatment of NIPPV can quickly relieve the clinical symptoms of the patients and improve arterial blood gas index. Key words: Acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; Type Ⅱ respiratory failure; Obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome; Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation; Ventilation mode conversion
