Abstract

Objective To observe the curative effect of comprehensive therapy on severe oral and maxillofacial multiple space infections.Methods From May 2002 to April 2012,86 patients suffered from severe oral and maxillofacial multiple space infections were treated by comprehensive therapy including establishment of patent drainage,anti-infection,supportive therapy as well as prevention and treatment of complications.Results After the comprehensive treatment,83 patients (96.5％) were cured,the other 3 patients (3.5％) died.Conclusions Comprehensive therapy can effectively reduce the mortality of severe oral and maxillofacial multiple space infections and improve the therapeutic effect.
