Abstract

Objective To study the etiology and treatment of secondary glaucoma induced by ocular trauma. Methods 50 eyes of 50 cases of secondary glaucoma induced by ocular trauma were enrolled in this study. The causes,clinical manifestation, treatment methods were observed and analized. Results Secondary glaucoma induced by ocular trauma was mainly caused by ocular blunt trauma, hyphema, lens source and inflammatory adhesion. 35 eyes were treated with drugs including systemic and eye drops treatment. 15 eyes were treated with combined surgery ( including anterior chamber irrigation, cataract extraction and trabeculectomy). Intraocular pressure of47eyes returned to normal after treatment. Intraocular pressure of 3 cases (3eyes) was over 21 mmHg, but it was lower than before treatment. Conclusion The causes of secondary glaucoma induced by ocular trauma were very complex. Most of them were blunt trauma and intraocular hemorrhage. It should be aimed at pathogeny to cure actively, prevented the happening of the complications and preserved visual function. Key words: Trauma, ocular; Glancoma, secondary; Pathogeny; Treatment
