Abstract

Objective To investigate the causes, complications, treatment and effects of hyphema caused by ocular blunt trauma. Methods Two hundred and fourteen eyes of 214 patients with hyphema caused by ocular blunt trauma were analyzed. Results In 214 patients, the major injury was caused by fist and kicking, and the effect of treatment of traumatic hyphema in the grade I and II without secondary hemorrhage or secondary glaucoma was optimistic. The result of traumatic hyphema in grade III, with secondary glaucoma and complicated posterior segment ocular injury was not good. Conclusion Early reasonable treatment can achieve good therapeutic effect in contusive hyphema, and attention should be paid to the treatment for complications.
