Abstract
Objective To investigate the incidence of dry eye in patients before and after cataract surgery.Methods 216 eyes of 189 cases with cataract received phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation.The clinical examinations,including the ocular surface finding under the slit lamp microscope,tear film break time,Schirmer Ⅰ test,were performed in all cases at 3 days before cataract operation,1 week,1 month and 3 months after cataract operation.Results Different degrees of symptom and sign of dry eye occurred in some patients after operation,which appears at 1 week after surgery and were most obvious at 1 month and were improvement in different degrees at 3 months.Conclusion Dry eye can be induced after cataract surgery,which should be treated timely.
