Abstract

Abstract This chapter describes the importance of housing in the context of climate change and the health effects of climate change. The contribution of housing life cycle to production of greenhouse gases (GHGs), and the association between climate change, housing dampness, mould problems and respiratory health are discussed. The impact of housing-related climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies on public health, and the co-benefits for public health from climate change mitigation strategies in the housing sector are described. The controversies in climate change mitigation are discussed.
