Abstract

A cross-sectional exploratory survey of 46 community mental health center clients was conducted to determine if client perception of the role of medication consumer was congruent with the prescribed role. Analysis of findings suggested that the subjects functioned as passive rather than active participants in drug management. The majority of subjects were unable to remember basic information about their psychotropic medication regimens.
