Abstract

The experiences of the 1980s have shaped us for the next decade. Escalating serials costs, space constraints, budget cuts in materials and personnel have required us to examine closely whom we serve and clarify the mission of the library. Based upon these realities, with a firm idea of the support we have from users, we need to focus on communication and interaction with all who we use the collection (including administrative groups), and continue to improve the structures for collection development, maintenance and weeding.
