Abstract

ABSTRACT The mission of the Clemson University Energy Systems Laboratory (ESL) is to provide real-time energy usage and equipment performance data for simulation, modeling, and analysis by students and faculty in engineering courses and research projects. The ESL is adjacent to the Clemson University Central Energy Plant, forming an effective partnership. This article describes experiences with and strategies for using energy system operating data to bring real-life problem solving into undergraduate engineering courses.
