Abstract

NUMEROUS COMPLICATIONS have been associated with endotracheal intubation in infancy. Pressure on airway structures has resulted in tracheal ulceration and perforation, subglottic edema, stenosis and granuloma formation, and damage to the vocal cords?-' Nasotracheal intubation has resulted in stenosis of the nasal vestibule and septal erosion.: ' We are reporting two cases of acquired cleft of the hard palate as an unusual complication of prolonged orotracheal intubation in infancy.
