Abstract

China is the world's largest energy consumer and importer of oil and gas, hence assuring steady supply of those resources is a major concern for national security. This paper analyses the current situation of oil and gas consumption in China and suggests feasible technical solutions to alleviate the pressure on environmental management, reduce gas emissions, and reverse the severe impact of energy consumption on ecosystems to assist the course towards a more sustainable development. Building on the theory of complex ecosystems, this paper divides the management area of oil and gas consumption environment in China, and determines the evaluation of atmospheric environment system, such as eco-environmental vulnerability and the carrying capacity of ecosystems to provide a theoretical basis for the categorization and management of oil and gas consumption environment management area in China.
