Abstract

Abstract Twenty-two insecticides, with no adjuvants, were evaluated for ovicidal activity against D. abbreviatus eggs. Each material was applied with a pressurized hand sprayer to runoff to citrus foliage containing attached 24-hr-old weevil eggs. The foliage was then maintained at 26.6°C with uncontrolled humidity. All treatments were replicated 5 times, and the controls were sprayed with water. After 10 days, the hatched neonate larvae were counted. Effectiveness was determined and computed on the basis of the number of eggs hatched in the control.
