AbstractThe principal fatty acid (90+%) of the monoene fraction ofCytophaga hutchinsonii has been identified ascis‐11‐hexadecenoic acid. This fatty acid, which constitutes 29% of the total lipid fatty acids, is located principally in the phosphatidyl ethanolamine fraction.
