Abstract

Summary The temporal and kinematic stride characteristics of a horse with degenerative joint disease of the distal intertarsal joint of the right hind (RH) limb are described. Observation at the trot indicated that the horse took a short stride onto the affected RH. During the swing phase the RH toe had a low flight arc but was not dragged on the ground.
