Abstract

Dodecyl benzene sodium sulfonate, Santomerse No. 3 from Olefin, was fed to male and female albino rats over a two-year period. The dietary levels, based on results of a subacute range-finding study, were 0, 200, 1000, and 2000 ppm. No adverse effects were produced with respect to growth, food consumption, survival, hematologic values, organ weights and organ: body weight ratios. Gross and microscopic examination of tissues revealed no pathologic changes attributable to the ingestion of the test material.
