Abstract
SUMMARYThe haploid number 25 has been found in males of Gobius niger jozo and Gobius paganellus from the Venice Lagon, whereas the diploid number 48 was elsewhere found for G. niger jozo from the Tirrenian sea. Spermatocyte bivalents at diakinesis seem achiasmatic or bear a low number of chiasmata.
