Abstract
The karyotype of haploid clementine ( Citrus clementina hort. ex Tanaka) (2 n=9) was identified by means of sequential Giemsa/CMA/DAPI staining. CMA-positive bands were observed on one terminal and one proximal regions of one chromosome (type B), two terminal regions of one chromosome (type C), and one terminal region of four chromosomes (type D). Each type D chromosome could be identified by the intensity of the CMA band and/or the existence of a DAPI-negative band. Three chromosomes without CMA-positive bands (type E) were divided into three types according to their length (i.e. long, medium, and short). All nine chromosomes were identified.
