Abstract
The composition and method of use of two chlorine‐releasing agents and factors affecting their disinfection of contact lenses are discussed. A comparison of the properties of the two organic chlorine‐releasing systems presently on the Australian market is given. Both perform to international standards on properly cleaned lenses, however soiled lenses may severely reduce their efficacy.
