Abstract

The extended nonlinear Schrödinger equation depicts the pulse propagation in the negative index material with self-steepening and magnetooptic effects. By means of the F-function method, Jacobian elliptic sine and cosine function solutions and bright soliton solution are constructed. From these solutions, the amplitude, width and phase chirp of bright soliton are related to parameters of self-steepening and magnetooptic effects, linear phase and group velocity dispersion.
