Abstract

Abstract Asymmetric CH activation is a highly efficient and practical synthetic methodology for the direct construction of value‐added chiral organic molecular from simple starting materials. The chiral cyclopentadienyl ligand and its analogs are of great significance in asymmetric catalysis. Since the pioneering work by Cramer and Rovis, numerous efforts have been achieved in the design and synthesis of novel chiral cyclopentadienyl (Cp X ) ligands as well as their metal complexes, which cause eruptive development of Cp X M‐catalyzed asymmetric CH functionalization. This article highlights the recent significant progress in the realm of direct and convenient creation of chiral elements via chiral Cp X M complex‐catalyzed CH functionalization, including the creation of central chirality (carbon and heteroatom central chirality), axial chirality, planar chirality, and helical chirality.
