Abstract

The article outlines the key phases in the evolution of China's interstate relations with Central Asian nations since 1991 from the perspective of Chinese historiography. Prospects for collaboration and the role of the “spirit of the Silk Road” in resolving the challenges that have developed are also taken into consideration.
