Abstract
The main objective of the National Immunization Program (PNI) is to ensure adequate immunization of the population, which requires constant updating and implementation of strategies to maximize the benefits of immunization. These strategies are essential, especially in the first years of life, when adherence to the vaccination schedule is crucial. In addition to the health impacts, failure to vaccinate minors also has significant legal implications in Brazil. According to Art. 14 of the Statute of Children and Adolescents (ECA), in 2023, the National Immunization Program (PNI) completed 50 years and with this we can see the evolution of this important and necessary policy for the Brazilian population, which guarantees vaccine security for children, which is distributed in the Health Care Networks (RAS) free of charge thanks to the Unified Health System (SUS).
