Abstract

Data from the Household Income and Labour Dynamics of Australia (HILDA) survey are analysed to determine the difficulties faced by Australian families in terms of accessibility and affordability of childcare. The extent of the problems in the context of several variables and also the increasing costs of child care are discussed, also highlighting the government's child care policy.
