Abstract
Abstract: Jamun is a popular indigenous fruit Of India. It has got very valuable place in Ayurvedic medicines. It is believed to be a boon for diabetic patients. But in India, its organized orcharding is still lacking mainly because of lack of proper information on cultivation practices and non-availability of dwarf and high yielding varieties. In this booklet all the information on jamun cultivation has been collected and presented in a simple and interesting form. This research highlights the chemical composition and antioxidant potential of leaf gall extracts (aqueous and methanol) of Syzygium cumini (S. cumini), which have been extensively used in traditional medications to treat various metabolic diseases.
