Abstract
Cheque fraud or the passing of bad cheques are considered normal events in business life. For some they are also considered a serious problem, but is this view commonly held? An attempt is made to review these beliefs with reference to the Australian experience and also to identify the extent of official statistics on the subject and the actual victims of valueless cheques.
