Abstract

Abstract The microwave spectrum of BCF has been assigned in the frequency region 48–72 GHz, and the rotational constants, some quartic distortion constants, and the bromine quadrupole coupling tensor have been obtained for the four isotopic species. Using the obtained 12 rotational constants, and r 0 structure has been fitted and compared to ab initio and semi-empirical theoretical structural predictions, along with other halogenated methane-type molecules. The present study opens the way for its possible spectroscopic atmospheric detection.
