AbstractThe synthesis of new nitrones such as (VII) from (D)‐fructose demonstrates that acyl‐protected nitrones can be prepared efficiently by intramolecular N‐alkylation of sugar‐derived oximes, a strategy previously developed only for ether‐ or ketal‐protected cyclic nitrones.
