Abstract

A hexacoordinated monomeric silicon(IV) complex, (acac)2Si(NCS)2 [where acac = (CH3COCHCOCH3)−] was isolated and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, multinuclei (1H, 13C and 29Si) NMR spectral data. Initially the complex has the cis-structure in solution which changes to an equilibrium mixture (1.8:1) of cis and trans isomers at room temperature in 24 h.
