AbstractThe reaction of enynals (I) with propynols (II) proceeds via hydrolysis, Knoevenagel condensation, Michael addition and Conia‐ene reaction to afford indanone‐fused 2‐methylene tetrahydrofurans (III), which are oxidized to α‐methylene γ‐lactones (IV).
