AbstractThe reaction between the pentadiene (Ia) and the isobutyl compounds (IV) of main group metals yields the products of alkylation ((IIa) and (IIIa)), reduction ((V) and (VI)) and elimination ((VII)) with chemo‐ and regioselectivity depending on the nature of the organometallic reagents.
