AbstractThe alkali hafnium fluorides Li2HfF6 (I), Na5Hf2F13 (II), K2Hf3OF12 (III), K3HfOF5 (IV), and (NH4)3HfOF5 (V) are hydrothermally prepared from aqueous solutions of HfF4, LiF, NaF, KF, KHF2, RbF, or CsF (sealed Ag ampule, autoclave, 400—600 °C, several days).
