AbstractAcyclic secondary tosylates having an ether or thioether group near to the tosyloxy group such as (I), (IV), and (VI) react with the lithium diorganocuprates (II) or (VII), yielding the corresponding substitution products (III), (V), and (VIII) respectively with inversion of configuration.
