Abstract

EPR spectra of Mn2+ in single crystals of FeSiF6⋅6H2O have been studied at 16.5 and 25.0 GHz in the parallel orientation at 4.2 K. The spectra were fitted to a standard spin Hamiltonian with gz=2.0005±0.0005, D=−(254±1) ×10−4 cm−1, E=−(40±10) ×10−4 cm−1, a−F=+(8±1) ×10−4 cm−1, A=−(91.1±0.5) ×10−4 cm−1. Independent calculations of the line positions and the relative intensities of the ’’forbidden’’ hyperfine transitions both gave the value ϑ= (8±1) ° for the angle between the crystallographic c axis and the z axis of a Mn2+ ion.
