Abstract
Abstract Acid-catalyzed fluorous benzylating reagents have been developed based on the unique π-electron deficient properties of triazinedione. Alcohols and carboxylic acids could be converted into the corresponding fluorous-benzyl ether and ester derivatives, respectively, in good yield by using the reagents in the presence of a catalytic amount of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid.
