AbstractThe combination of cuprous bromide/dimethyl sulfide complex with reversed (R,S)‐Josiphos ligand is successfully applied as a catalytic system for the asymmetric conjugate addition of Grignard reagents (II) to dihydropyranone (I) and pyranone (IV) derivatives leading to 4‐substituted tetrahydropyranones (III) and 3,4‐dihydropyranones (V), respectively.
