AbstractAerobic addition of NMe4OH to a mixture of complex (I) and thioglycolate ethyl ester or other thiolate ligands in CHCl3 at 20°C resulted in two unusual split Soret bands for the bis‐[thiolato]‐cobalt(III) porphyrin complexes (II), which were assigned to thiolato S p‐ porphyrin 7t charge‐transfcr transitions mixed with the porphyrin 7t‐ 7t transitions.
