AbstractThe sodium salt (I) of tropone tosylhydrazone (I) reacts with the activated olefins (II) via 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition of diazotropilidene intermediately formed and subsequent rearrangement to produce mixtures of the indanones (III) and the bicyclo(5.2.0)nonatrienes (IV).
