Abstract
AbstractLithium tetraborate, generated in situ from Na2B4O7 and LiCl, proves to be an unexpectedly efficient reagent for the direct synthesis of cinnamic acids (III) (8 examples) from aldehydes (II) and carboxylic acids (I).
