Abstract

AbstractTreatment of the acyl chlorides (Ia), (Ib) or of the alkyl chloroformates (Ic) with equivalent amounts of 20% NaOH under the conditions of liquid‐liquid phase‐transfer catalysis affords the corresponding carboxylic anhydrides (IIa), (IIb) or carbonic acid anhydrides (IIc) in high yields.
