AbstractMethoxymethyl or 1‐methoxyethyl ether derivatives are transformed by a one‐pot two‐step sequence into the corresponding alkyl ether derivatives via pyridinium salt intermediates, which are added to organocuprates generated in situ from CuI and alkyl/aryl Grignard reagents.
