Abstract

Abstract On 28 Jun, cuttings of Taxus media ‘Hatfieldii’ were sprayed until wet with a handheld atomizer. After drying, 2 treated taxus cuttings were placed in 1 liter cardboard containers along with 10 BVW, covered with cheese cloth and secured with a rubber band. Containers were maintained in the laboratory at 22.4°C. There were 5 replications/treatment arranged in a completely randomized design. Weevils were checked daily and the number of weevils alive (very active and feeding), dead, or some activity (SA) (showing some nerve activity, no feeding) were recorded. SA was recorded due to indications that weevils may recover from a sublethal dose of fluvalinate.
