Abstract

Three types of granular formulations (with aldicarb, dimethoate, methomyl, and disulfoton) were prepared and evaluated in laboratory tests. They were found to release the toxic ants at 3 distinctly different rates. In greenhouse tests, formulations of aldicarb, dimethoate, and methomyl with the slower rates of release were less damaging to plant stands and were effective longer than the fast-release standard against the cotton aphid, Aphis gossypii Glover. However, slow release formulations of disulfoton were less effective against cotton aphids than the standard.
