Abstract

Recent neutron diffraction experiments have shown structure at the intensity level 10-5 very close to the 110 b.c.c. Bragg point in metallic potassium. Three possible explanations of these data have been proposed: (1) Charge Density Waves. (2) Martensitic Embyros. (3) Spectrometer resolution/double-scattering events. These alternative interpretations are discussed.
